A little Margay, a rare and barely studied feline predator, is separated from his mother in the South American jungle and taken to a gold mining camp. Folton, a young indigenous man, is also stranded there, with broken dreams and no future. He recognises a soul mate in the captive Margay – they are both lost and uprooted. He decides to bring the little predator back to the freedom of the jungle. What Folton does not expect: This task will also give him a second chance to find his place in life. Together, the unlikely friends set off into the wilderness of Guyana on a dangerous journey full of challenges. At the end of their journey, Folton returns to his village with renewed self-confidence, while the Margay becomes the new king of the canopy – a gripping story of survival, friendship and the power of nature.
